add my brother in the title . Can i possibly do that?My mortgage payment on my house is about to reset and i would like to refinance it. The thing is I would like?
Tess,
Remember that adding your brother to the deed makes him an owner. You would need his approval to sell or refinance it in the future.
Without him being on the bank note, only you have the sole obligation to repay the loan.
The answer to your question is yes. Tell your settlement company you want your brother's name on the deed. Also, you will need to tell them how you want the title held. Ask them to explain the differences between the titles. My mortgage payment on my house is about to reset and i would like to refinance it. The thing is I would like?
Adding someone to the title and adding them as a coborrower to a new loan are two different things. Please think it through.
depending on which state you are, you need a ';quick claim deed'; to add him to title. Most title co. will record it for you at closing. You should check first. Good luck
why do you want to add your brother to the deed but not the mortgage. This is NOT, NOT, NOT a good idea.
Tess.
would be simple to add your brother to the title, but you will want to remember that makes him an owner as well so you will need to get his permission to sale the place, or even refinance again. also it would give him a right to any proceeds in a sale. so that is definately something you will want to think through.
as far as refinancing goes, definately get that done before the payment resets! it's never fun getting your new mortgage payment and it's much higher than your original payment.
